Who I Am
My name is Boston Meeker, and Miami University has always been more than just a school to me, it’s a part of my family’s identity. I’m currently a senior at Miami, following in the footsteps of my parents, who are proud “Mergers,” graduating in 1995 and 1997. My middle brother is just beginning his own Miami journey as a freshman on campus, and my youngest brother is already preparing to carry on the tradition in the years ahead. To us, Miami isn’t just where we go to school; it’s a community that has shaped our family across generations.

My Interests & Goals
I’ve always been drawn to creativity, storytelling, and building connections — whether through design, entrepreneurship, or celebrating the traditions that make Miami so unique. My goal in life is to create work that not only reflects my passions but also leaves a lasting impact on the people around me. I believe that what you do should bring joy, spark conversation, and strengthen the ties between people and the places they love.

The Roots of My Company
This vision inspired me to found 1809 Apparel. I wanted to create a way for students, alumni, parents, and friends of Miami to carry a piece of their memories with them, wherever life takes them. What started as a simple idea grew into something much bigger — a brand dedicated to celebrating Miami traditions, preserving its history, and keeping the RedSkiin spirit alive through products that blend nostalgia with pride. For me, it’s more than just a business; it’s a way to honor the place that has given my family so much and share that feeling with others who call Miami home.
